Ship Scrubber Water Quality Monitoring

Water quality monitoring for ship scrubber washwater (MARPOL Annex VI Reg. 14): EG-100 EGCS water monitor, CW-150/OPSA-150 organic pollutant monitor, OCMA oil content meters and pH/ORP meter series.

Description

HORIBA supplies water quality monitoring for ship scrubbers, measuring the washwater that marine exhaust gas cleaning systems discharge overboard. Since 2020, Regulation 14 of MARPOL Annex VI limits sulphur oxides (SOx) and particulate matter (PM) from ships, so vessels burning heavy fuel oil (C heavy oil) need an exhaust gas cleaning system (scrubber), and the quality of the washwater discharged overboard from that system must also be measured.

Product lineup

  • EG-100: water quality monitor for ship exhaust gas cleaning systems
  • CW-150 / OPSA-150: organic pollutant monitors
  • Oil content meters: OCMA-505-H, OCMA-555-H
  • H-1 series (field-installation type): HP-200 4-wire, HP-300 2-wire, HO-200 4-wire, HO-300 2-wire and HE-200H 4-wire (high concentration) meters
  • 48/96 series (panel-mount type): HP-480 4-wire, HP-480PL 4-wire pulse-proportional controller, HP-480TP 4-wire time-division proportional controller, HP-960FTP 4-wire time-division proportional controller with 4-point alarm, HE-480H 4-wire (high concentration)

Applications

  • Washwater discharge monitoring for marine SOx scrubbers (EGCS)
  • Compliance with MARPOL Annex VI Regulation 14 on ocean-going and coastal vessels
