Flender NAVILUS generator gearboxes for shaft generators on ships with low-speed diesel engines, transmitting up to 8,000 kW and supporting PTI/PTH emergency operation.
Description
NAVILUS Generator Gearboxes enable low-cost electricity generation on board ships with low-speed diesel engines. They can be used for shaft generator operation as well as PTI/PTH (power take-in / power take-home) emergency operation.
The gearbox is installed on the propeller shaft or on the front of the main engine. By stepping up the speed, a smaller and lighter high-speed shaft generator can be used, typically running at 1,800 to 3,600 rpm.
