Description

The Flex Tunnel from Damen Marine Components is a retractable tunnel integrated into the hull, developed in 2010 with research institute DST Duisburg. It is deployed at shallow draught to ensure water flows over the propeller, and retracted when sailing at or near maximum draught to avoid the resistance of a fixed tunnel.
