Cavotec Ship-side Shore Power Systems
Cavotec ship-side shore power equipment compliant with IEC/IEEE 80005: PowerAMPReel onboard cable reel, PowerFit containerised HV shore connection and PowerReceive connection box, plus retrofit services.
Description
Cavotec Ship-side Shore Power Systems let vessels connect to the port electrical grid at berth (cold ironing / OPS / AMP) so onboard diesel generators can be switched off, cutting fuel use, noise and emissions. Systems comply with ISO/IEC/IEEE 80005 and ship class rules.

- PowerAMPReel – onboard cable reeling system that stores, deploys and recovers HV or LV shore connection cables during the port stay
- PowerFit – containerised HV shore connection (HVSC) package with PowerAMPReel, HV switchboard, control panel, HV/LV transformer when needed and auxiliaries; compartmented container with interlocked doors and hatches and smoke detection
- PowerReceive – onboard shore power connection box and cabinet for vessels served by shore-based cable management systems; modular design
Retrofit
Cavotec retrofits shore power to all vessel types, with installation options in drydock or during commercial sailing to minimise downtime.
Applications
Cruise ships, container ships, Ro/Pax and Ro/Ro ferries, PCCs, tankers, LNG carriers and bulk carriers. Supports compliance with FuelEU Maritime, EU ETS, CARB and other national shore power requirements.
