About
Cryostar opened in 1966 in Basel, Switzerland, as a subsidiary of the American company Airco Cryogenics. The production site in Hésingue, France, opened in 1973 with a focus on cryogenic pumps, followed in 1974 by the expansion turbine and compressor programme. In 1998 the Swiss headquarters merged into the Hésingue site, which became the global headquarters.
The company became a member of The BOC Group in 1985 and of The Linde Group in 2006, when Linde acquired BOC. Acquisitions added the Elintec cylinder filling systems and the CCI pump lines in 2001 and the CVI pump line from Chart Industries in 2002.
Cryostar is a French simplified joint stock company with its head office in the Zone Industrielle of Hésingue. Subsidiaries, production and service centres were set up in the United Kingdom, Singapore, the United States, China and Brazil.
