Marine Jet Power Adds to Growing Team in the Americas

Marine Jet Power (MJP) announced Cole Merritt and Peter Gonzalez have joined its business development team in the Americas.

“Peter and Cole are a welcome addition to the MJP team in the Americas. As we continue to expand our footprint in the region their experience and expertise will be invaluable as we strive to offer an unmatched customer experience for shipyards, boat builders and operators,” said MJP President and Regional Director, Michael Rickey.

Both Peter and Cole started their new positions with MJP on April 6.

Merritt has joined MJP in the role of Sales Manager responsible for OEM sales in North, South and Central America. Merritt served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1998 -2007 and served as a section leader for both Amphibious Assault and Small Craft Company from 2003 -2007. Most recently he was employed by the Mack Boring & Parts Company where he was responsible for dealer accounts for Scania Marine, providing technical sales support and account management to customers in his area of responsibility. Prior to that Merritt held increasing roles of responsibility at SAFE Boats International in the customer support group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American Military University.

Gonzalez has joined MJP as Aftermarket Sales and Training Manager responsible for aftermarket sales and training in the Americas region. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve from 1978 – 2013 where he served as Naval Engineering Chief Warrant Officer with responsibilities in engineering and training. Gonzalez most recently worked as the Sr. District Sales & Service Manager for Honda Motor Co. where he provided product sales and service support for Honda Marine and Power Equipment distributors throughout Central America and the Caribbean. Prior to that he worked with Mercury Marine to provide technical and service support to customers in Latin America and the Caribbean. He holds a bachelor’s degree and is fluent in Spanish.
