Green Tech Marine Scrubbers for New NCL Cruise Ships

Norwegian Cruise Line's two new Breakaway Plus class ships will be the first new builds in the cruise industry to feature innovative scrubber technology developed by Green Tech Marine (GTM). The two new vessels will be built by Meyer Werft GMBH in Germany and delivered to the fleet in 2015 and 2017 respectively. Green Tech Marine will provide five scrubbers per ship for the engines which range from 14.4 to 16.8 megawatts. This installation will be the largest scrubber plant in the world with a total engine power of 76.8 megawatts.

First block set in place at the Meyer Werft Shipyard as construction begins on second Breakaway-class ship. Norwegian Cruise Line executives and officials from Meyer Werft took part in the Keel Laying Ceremony of Norwegian Getaway at the shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Cruise Ship Newbuilding Famine Relieved by NCL

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) orders new cruise liner from Germany's Meyer Werft with option for a second. The ship's contract price is approximately euro 700 million and the company has export credit financing in place which was arranged and underwritten by KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH of Germany.
