Frydenbø Industri AS – New setup in the North of Norway
Frydenbø Industri AS has recently acquired half of the shares of the mechanical business, Øksfjord Slipp & Mek AS in Finnmark, and has thereby got a solid foothold in the North Norwegian market.
From before, Frydenbø Industri AS consists of the companies Frydenbø Sabb Motor AS, Frydenbø Power AS, Frydenbø Electric AS, Frydenbø Marine Services AS, and a part of the German company Schottel GmbH, -one of the world's leading suppliers of propulsion systems.
Frydenbø Industri AS has for long planned to expand its market area, and a position in the North of Norway is very interesting in view of the expected developments in this region in the coming years.
Øksfjord Slipp & Mek AS is a well established mechanical business, located in the industrial area in Vassdalen, Øksfjord. The company has a modern facility with own hall and drydock, and a market base that is largely related to the mining industry, the coastal fishing fleet and the fish-farm industry in the region. The company has for years been an agent of engines, parts and services for Frydenbø Sabb Motor AS.
In the coming year the company will expand its facility significantly. At the same time, it is very positive that Loppa municipality is building a major new pier and quay next to the company. Øksfjord Slipp & Mek AS, is thereby expected to strengthen its market position significantly. It is likely that the company will eventually become a leading supplier of mechanical services to both existing industries, as well as to the oil & gas industry in the region.
