About
HEINZMANN was founded in 1897 by the engineer Max Joseph Heinzmann, originally to build speed governors for combustion engines. Fritz Heinzmann took over in 1937 and moved the company from Radebeul near Dresden to the Stuttgart area. In 1987 the company was acquired by Anton Gromer; in 1999 Markus Gromer became owner and Managing Director.
Since 1992 production has been concentrated in a plant in Schönau in the Black Forest, Germany, where Heinzmann GmbH & Co. KG has its headquarters. Digital control systems for ships, locomotives and industrial vehicles were introduced in 1995.
The HEINZMANN Group includes REGULATEURS EUROPA, HEINZMANN UK, HEINZMANN China, HEINZMANN Australia, HEINZMANN Automation, CPK Automotive, Giro Engineering and HEINZMANN IFT, with fourteen subsidiaries worldwide, eight of them production locations.
