Amogy

Amogy was founded in 2020 by four MIT PhD alumni to use ammonia as a scalable source of clean power. The headquarters is in Brooklyn, New York, with further sites in Houston, Texas, and Seoul, South Korea.

The company has demonstrated its ammonia cracking technology in a 5 kW drone (2021), a 100 kW tractor (2022) and a 300 kW semi-truck (2023). In September 2024 it launched the NH3 Kraken, a retrofitted tugboat that it describes as the first carbon-free ammonia-powered vessel in the world.

In 2025 Amogy completed the commissioning of ATHENA, an ammonia testing and manufacturing facility in Houston built to support research and development and to speed up commercialization.
