About

The company was founded in 1986 as Arcturus Marine Systems and began with the MiniThruster product line for domestic yacht and work boat builders. In 1989 the Magnum Series with purpose-designed six-bladed propellers replaced it, and hydraulic system design was expanded to cover all manner of shipboard hydraulic loads.

In 1993 Arcturus changed its marketing name to American Bow Thruster and introduced the TRAC gearbox style thrusters. TRAC Digital Stabilizers followed in 1999, with all-digital controls.

Today ABT-TRAC is part of Inov8v Marine Group and is based in Arlington, Washington, USA, with sales and service contacts covering the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania.
